Description
A bot fly knife is a specially shaped blade used to remove bot eggs from horses. Bot flies lay their eggs, which look like small, yellow specks of paint, on the skin and hair of various animals, including donkeys, cows, reindeer and caribou. Livestock as well as humans are susceptible to the larvae, which burrow into the flesh. When the animal ingests the bot fly larvae, infection and disease can result.
